"TIE ONE ON!"
PINTS FOR PROSTATES, PIKE BREWING COMPANY
AND Us TOO PRESENT
A Charitable Event:
WEDNESDAY - JUNE 16, 2010
6:00 - 9:00 P.M.
PIKE BREWING COMPANY - MUSEUM ROOM
1415 1ST AVENUE, SEATTLE, WA 98101
Cheers, Bottoms Up, Down the Hatch... Men have hundreds of words for drinking, but a very limited language to discuss their health, particularly issues such as prostate cancer. They may know their IPA but do they know their PSA? At Pike Brewing Company on June 16, "Tie One On" is not about drinking. It's about the blue ribbon, and raising mens' prostate health awareness. Come support a campaign that's reached millions of men through the universal language of beer. Every pint benefits the cause, so bring your friends and raise a glass to fight prostate cancer.
Pike Brewing Company presents Pints for Prostates, a charitable fundraiser to help fight prostate cancer. The entire day, beginning at 11 a.m., will be dedicated to the Pints for Prostates cause. Twenty percent of the proceeds of every beverage sold that day will be given to the Pints for Prostates campaign and Us TOO International. Highlighting the day is a special evening event from 6-9 P.M. in the Museum Room at The Pike Pub. Representatives from Pints for Prostates, Us TOO International, Cancer Care Alliance, and Dendreon Corporation who are helping support the event, will be on hand to answer questions about detection, diagnosis and treatment. We're especially pleased to welcome drinks journalist and prostate cancer survivor, Rick Lykes, who founded Pints for Prostates in 2002.
Additionally, a silent auction will be held during the evening event with items generously donated by:
Beecher's Cheese, Hotel Max, Columbia Tower Club, TASTE at SAM, Tom Douglas Restaurants, Ponti Seafood Grill, 106 Pine, Woodland Park Zoo, Museum of Flight, Wines of Washington, Click Wholesale Distributing, ACT Theater, Noble Wines, Savor Tours, Washington Brewers Guild, and more. Pike will raffle off some of their handsome memorabilia and breweriana while Pints for Prostates will be offering the opportunity to enter to win a trip for two to the Great American Beer Festival in Denver during September. The trip for two includes roundtrip airline tickets, three nights at the Sheraton Downtown Denver, tickets for three nights at the GABF, tickets to the Denver Rare Beer Tasting, a hosted pub crawl, and admission to special beer insider events.
Pints for Prostates is a 501(c)3 organization that uses the universal language of beer to encourage men to take charge of their health. The grassroots effort raises awareness among men of the importance of regular health screenings and PSA testing by making appearances at beer festivals, social networking, and pro bono advertising. The funds that Pints raises support programs that assist men with prostate cancer with research aimed at improving care and finding a cure for the disease. Pints for Prostates supports Us TOO International, a 501(c) 3 charity founded in 1990 that works to support, educate, and advocate for men with prostate cancer and their families. Since its inception, Pints for Prostates has raised more than 60K to assist the Us TOO Support Network. More information is available at www.pintsforprostates.org You can also find Pints on Facebook and Twitter @pints4prostates .
Pike Brewing Company is proud to partner with Pints for Prostates, Us TOO International and Dendreon Corporation to make this a successful event. We encourage you to invite your brothers, fathers, husbands and friends to join us in lifting a pint of Pike; "through the universal language of beer" we can help effect a cure!
Thank you to Square Tomato LLC, an award winning Seattle advertising agency who generously donated their time and creative design to support the Pints for Prostates cause.
