Pike XXXXX Stout Mustard brings home another medal! This stone ground mustard, which is served at The Pike Pub and sold in local retail stores, received the prestigious Good Food Award on Friday, January 20th. Awarded to products which exemplify, “tasty, authentic and responsible food systems” the Good Food Awards were held in San Francisco and bestowed upon only 193 foods and beverages. Pike Brewing Company is honored that our Pike XXXXX Stout Mustard was among those recognized.

Pike XXXXX Stout Mustard was one of the first recipes that Executive Chef & Owner, Gary Marx, designed when The Pike Pub opened in 1996. With a commitment to housemade menu items that celebrate food and beer pairings, it only made sense for Chef Gary to create a house mustard using Pike XXXXX Stout beer. The Pike Pub serves the Pike XXXXX Stout Mustard alongside our housemade Pike Pretzels and Ale-Braised Bratwurst. Those in the know also ask for it with their Reuben Sandwich. Pike started bottling the mustard in 2012 after many requests by guests to bring the mustard home with them.

Chosen from 2,059 entrants, Pike Brewing is honored to be one of 193 companies to receive a 2017 Good Food Awards. Charles and Rose Ann Finkel, Founders and Owners of Pike Brewing Company, were in San Francisco to accept the award where Alice Waters, Nell Newman, Winona LaDuke and Sam Mogannam introduced the winners in an Oscars-style ceremony at the gala reception.

This is the second recent award for Pike XXXXX Stout Mustard, which received the Gold Medal in the National Mustard Museum’s 2015 World Wide Mustard Competition.
