Pike XXXXX Stout
Pike xxxxx stout: extra stout
Pike XXXXX Stout boasts a full-bodied, velvety malt texture featuring hints of chocolate, licorice, and dark-roast coffee. Robust with a gorgeous reddish-black color and a rich mouthfeel, the secret to Pike XXXXX Stout’s cult-like following is a generous hop blend that brings a complexity of flavors without overwhelming the malt character.
Pike XXXXX Stout is a three-time Gold medal winner in The United States Beer Tasting Championship; a Gold medal winner in The Great International Beer Festival, the North American Beer Tasting Championship, the Washington Beer Awards; a Silver medal winner at the Brewers Association World Beer Cup, and in Sip Northwest Magazine’s Best of the Northwest; and a Bronze medal winner in the U.S. Open Beer Championship. Pike XXXXX Stout is featured in our award-winning stone-ground mustard.
Inspired by the quintessential 18th century London stouts and the light, dry stouts that took Dublin by storm in the 19th century, Pike XXXXX Stout is a nod to the British Isles and has been featured in seminal beer books from Christine Rhodes’ The Encyclopedia of Beer, to Dom “Doochie” Cook of Beer Kulture’s This Ain’t The Beer That You’re Used To.
Pike XXXXX Stout was first brewed in 1989, the second beer produced by Pike Brewing Company. Extra stouts offer broad flavors and a generous level of alcohol. The style may be sweet or dry, Pike XXXXX Stout, however, finishes quite dry.
